The Joeys are the babies of Legend's 'Kangaroo' range with the same fast, open Australian sound. So they are ideal speakers for a true 'high fidelity' stereo system in a smaller room. The Joeys are also superb as rear speakers in a home theatre system with their bigger siblings - or, because they are fully shielded, as front speakers in their own right. The Joey 4s were part of Legend's Mob 1 system that was recently awarded the 2006 AV Home Theatre Speaker System Award 
Since these reviews Legend have further improved the drivers, cabinets and crossovers to give an even flatter frequency response and more dynamic sound to form the Joey 5s. Fed with well-recorded sound through high quality front-end electronics, the Joey 5s will sound superb in any top-of-the-range stereo or home-theatre system.
However, be warned. Great care has been taken to minimise colouration, particularly resonances, that give many speakers a 'warm but fuzzy' sound - and make all recordings sound 'nice', much like bathroom resonances make us all sound like operatic tenors or sopranos. Or like adding 3 spoons of sugar to everything so that all taste sweet - but all the same!
Within their band-width of 50 Hz to 25 kHz, the Joeys are very faithful to the signal fed to them. If they are fed poorly recorded music or through poor front end electronics, the Joeys will sound poor. Conversely, fed with well-recorded music (eg a Telarc SACD) through high quality front-end electronics, the Joeys will sound superb.
In other words, a mini-monitor with true fidelity.
