Legend Roo Rear-Channel Speakers

The Roos are a dedicated rear-channel speaker with a semi-bipole configuration. A single bass-mid unit on the front face is omnidirectional in its frequency range; while a pair of tweeters connected in phase on the 45 degree faces provide better dispersion of the treble. They are covered in acoustically-transparent Lycra fabric whose colour can be changed for different decor needs. A bracket on the rear provides easy attachment to a wall.

The Roos use the same superb mid-bass drivers and tweeters as the Kamas, Joeys and Kangas. They areLegend%20roo.jpg therefore ideal as a rear speaker for home-theatre and surround-sound with these siblings to produce a very uniform surround-sound field. And because they have a very similar "fast open" sound character as their bigger siblings, the Kantus and Kurkas, they also combine superbly with them for surround-sound music or home-theatre. They are part of Legend's Mob 1 system that was recently awarded the 2006 AV Home Theatre Speaker System Award.

Like other Legend speakers, they have taken great care with the Roos to minimise colouration, particularly resonances, that give many other speakers a 'warm but fuzzy' sound. The Roos therefore start and stop with incredible speed and accuracy reproducing faithfully the lowest and highest level of detail. For surround-sound use, this means you will hear the gentlest russle of grass or the true crack of a rifle behind.

AVL magazine October 2005 enthused "the Mob 1 system handled finer details beautifully. Gladiator is full of all kinds of sound effects, such as that of a hand moving through grass in the opening scene to the rattling and creaking of the empress' carriage as it travels through the provinces. All this was conveyed convincingly and with authority. The excellent Roo 4 rear speakers helped this in large part."
