Tannoy Revolution Signature DC6 LCR Speaker
Bristling with cutting edge acoustic technology, the Revolution Signature DC6 LCR is a high performance and versatile left, centre or right channel home theatre loudspeaker. The 150mm (6.00") point source, constant directivity Dual Concentric™ drive unit is augmented by a additional 150mm (6.00") bass driver and 150mm (6.00") passive radiator. WideBand™ extended frequency response combines with premium crossover components, driver earthing and a rigidly constructed, sensuously styled curved trapezoidal cabinet to ensure natural midrange, high intelligibility, airiness and expansive sound staging.
Available in Espresso or Light Oak.
Main Features
Drive unit:
The time coherent, point source Dual Concentric™ driver is effectively two
drive units, HF and MF/LF, properly merged into one; ensuring there is no loss
of energy in the crossover region. The high rigidity chassis, with multi-point
fixings for optimal contact with the baffle, minimises vibration and delivers
fast tuneful bass, while the rigid multi-fibre paper pulp cone provides accurate
bass and dynamic midrange with excellent intelligibility.
Key to the acoustic performance of this award winning drive unit is the
WideBand™ tweeter technology. Using a high rigidity titanium dome with
neodymium magnet assembly coupled to a rear acoustic cavity, the driver
delivers low colouration and meticulously detailed, spacious and airy detail.
The substantial magnet assembly is shielded to prevent colour fringing effects
when placed close to screens.
Crossover design:
Great care has been taken over the component topology; kept simple in layout
for maximum signal transfer and to minimise interaction between components.
Tannoy DMT™ (Differential Material Technology) is used to damp the audiophile
grade polypropylene capacitors in the HF feed and low loss laminated core
inductors have been selected for the LF section. The internal wiring is
silver plated high purity oxygen free copper, with high current bi-wire
terminals.
The addition of an extra fifth terminal provides grounding for the drive unit
chassis, voice coil and speaker cable to reduce the pick up of airborne RF;
thus eliminating any feedback interference that can adversely affect the
performance of the source electronics in any audio system.
Cabinet construction:
The high rigidity MDF construction, with its extensive internal bracing,
minimises ‘cabinet effect’ colouration and contributes to the clean detail
and speed of the presentation. DMT™ (Differential Material Technology), a
special Tannoy bracing mechanism, is used between the back of the drive unit
and the cabinet to further control vibration, resulting in enhanced resolution
of fine detail.
The curved wall trapezoidal cabinet construction minimises resonances and
internal reflections, while floor standing models are also equipped with spikes
for optimum stability and vibration reducing contact with the floor surface;
all of which are factors in improving stereo imaging.
Clean and contemporary, the hand finished cabinets are available in a choice
of Espresso or Light Oak real wood veneers to match traditional and modern
interiors. The beautifully integrated brushed aluminium trims, with discreet
logo and branding, complete the cool and fully integrated design.
